Good to Go - Hatteras

There are fishing destinations—and then there is Hatteras, North Carolina.

For generations, Hatteras Village has been built around the water. Commercial fishermen, boatbuilders, lifesaving crews and some of the East Coast’s earliest charter captains made their living here. By the 1940s, Hatteras had begun developing the charter-fishing tradition that continues today. Sitting at the southern end of Hatteras Island with quick access through Hatteras Inlet, the village puts anglers within striking distance of some of the most productive offshore waters on the Atlantic Coast.

Good to Go Sportfishing is proud to be part of that tradition, fishing from Teach’s Lair Marina aboard our 44' Ocean Yacht, Good to Go.

Teach’s Lair is a fitting place to begin an offshore adventure. The marina takes its name from the legendary Edward Teach—better known as Blackbeard—whose story is forever tied to the waters surrounding Hatteras and nearby Ocracoke. Blackbeard used the shallow sounds and inlets of the Outer Banks during the final chapter of his notorious career before being killed near Ocracoke in 1718. Today, instead of pirate ships, Teach’s Lair is home to offshore and inshore fishing boats and remains one of Hatteras Village’s gathering places for serious anglers.
